Gretna Music finished a brilliant 50th season in 2025
Carl Ellenberger, a distinguished figure in the field of neurology, taught at two medical schools and served as the Neurologist in Chief at a US Army Hospital. He also directed an MRI Center and worked as a community Neurologist and Ophthalmologist. Recognized in several editions of 'The Best Doctors in the US,' he is not only known for his medical expertise but also for his passion for music. A talented musician, he played flute music in orchestras and music festivals alongside top professional musicians. In 1976, he founded Gretna Music, a leading organization in Pennsylvania that has been producing and presenting concerts featuring internationally-known musicians for 50 years. In addition to his musical contributions, he authored a musical biography titled 'Theme and Variations: Musical Notes by a Neurologist' in 2018, and released 'Mozart in the Woods,' celebrating Gretna Music's 50 years, in 2025.
